Customer Reviews
Replacement parts and instructional book
I recently purchased replacement tuning pegs and an instructional book for my mountain dulcimer. The ordering process on their website was straightforward and simple to navigate. Shipping was prompt; the package arrived in excellent condition within five business days. The tuning pegs fit perfectly, and the instructional book is well-written with clear diagrams, making it very helpful for a beginner like myself. I appreciate that they still make these instruments and parts in the USA. Everything felt high quality, and I had no issues with the products or delivery. A solid experience overall, I'd recommend them for parts and learning materials.
Consistent quality for accessories
I've been buying from Folkcraft for a few years now, mostly for accessories like picks, capos, and string sets. This latest order for a set of dulcimer hammers was just as good as always. The quality of their accessories is consistently reliable, and I know what to expect. Shipping is always on time, usually within a week. It's why I keep coming back – I know I'll get good stuff without any fuss. They've always been a dependable source for me.
Great dulcimer strings!
I bought some dulcimer strings from Folkcraft last week and they arrived super fast. The quality is fantastic, my dulcimer sounds amazing now! I will definitely shop here again for all my dulcimer needs. So happy with my purchase!
Decent stand, quick delivery
I ordered a dulcimer stand and it got here pretty fast, took about 4 days to reach me in California. The stand itself is solid, good quality for the price. My only small issue was the assembly instructions could have been a bit clearer, but I figured it out eventually. Overall a good experience and I'm happy with the purchase.
Got a new gig bag
So, I needed a new padded gig bag for my dulcimer, and Folkcraft had one that looked good. Placed the order, and it showed up in like 5 days, which was pretty quick. It fits my instrument perfectly and seems sturdy enough for lugging it around. No complaints, it was an easy transaction, and I'd probably buy from them again when I need something.

What's the typical wait time for a custom dulcimer from Folkcraft? Like if I order one today, when could I expect it?
Hey, I'm new to dulcimers and Folkcraft keeps popping up. Are their instruments good for a total beginner, or should I start with something cheaper?
How's the return policy on actual instruments from Folkcraft? What if I get it and it's not what I expected?
Does anyone know if Folkcraft does sales very often? I'm eyeing a specific model but wanna wait for a good deal if possible.
